Wat is een Old English Bulldog?
simpelweg gezegd een mix van bullen!
In de jaren 70 was er een man,David leavitt die een fokprogramma samen met de universiteit
van Ohio het oude echte engelse bulldog wilde terug fokken.
een hond die wel:
Atletisch was
die normaal kan rennen en aktief zijn
Natuurlijk kon ademhalen
Natuurlijk kon bevallen.
maar omdat de naam engelse bulldog al bestond heeft hij het de naam Old English Bulldog gegeven.
nu ruim 30 jaar later zijn er bijna 12 bloedlijnen van.
Maar wat is nou die OEB, want wezenlijk iedereen die een mix van bullen heeft noemt zijn hond OEB.
Dat is ook een moeilijkheid, want iedereen is die naam gaan gebruiken, zonder het gevraagd te hebben overigens.
Daarom is ook een groepje mensen hun honden leavitt bulldog gaan noemen, om zich te onderschijden van de grote groep met de daarbij behorende problemen.
Een echte OEB is simpelweg een leavitt hond.
Betekend niet dat andere OEB slecht zijn, nee zeer zeker niet, maar het betekend puur dat ze een mix hebben van verschillende bloedlijnen.
Is daarom de leavitt beter als de andere lijnen, oh nee zeer zeker niet.
Maar wij focussen ons op op de pure bloedlijnen.
We hebben ook de alternatieve bull, en daar willen we later een blauwe lijn van creeëren.
Wie zijn WE dan?
Wij zijn de famillie Hoogeboom, die eigenlijk net pas begonnen zijn met OEB honden.
Wij bestaan uit
Roel, An, shannen en stef.
Onze honden zitten lekker in huis, groeien als pup op en doen daar 1 of 2 nestjes mee.
Eigenlijk kan je wel zeggen dat we gelegenheids fokkers zijn.
hebben wij ook gelegenheids nestjes dan?
Nee zeer zeker niet!
Onze honden worden met 18 maanden gekeurd op HD en ED door een dierenarts die keurdt voor de
Hirschfeld stichting!(zwaarste in gradatie keuringen)
Waarom, omdat wij vinden dat als je een vriendje voor het leven neemt, dat je van een fokker de garantie moet krijgen dat die er alles aan gedaan heeft om een zo goed mogelijk pupje op de wereld te zetten.
Wij kijken naar bloed opbouw
Wij kijken naar karakters, vult het elkaar aan, ga ik geen dominante op dominante zetten oa.
wij kijken wat er in de lijn zit, want in heel veel lijnen zitten echt HD en ED.
Onze puppen kopers mogen alle keuringen van onze honden zien.
Wij zijn er heel open en eerlijk in.
Ja denkt u nu dat zeggen ze allemaal, en dat klopt ook.
Maar we proberen dat zo goed mogelijk te bereiken dmv een koopcontract,
2 jaar garantie op HD en ED.
En wij bieden de mogelijkheid dat als de situatie veranderd in uw leven, dat onze fok altijd terug mag komen.
Wij hebben altijd in het jaar dat de pup geboren is een puppendag.
Wij hebben jaarlijks een Highwoodbulls dag.
dat is altijd de eerste zondag van september.
We proberen als puppenkopers daar behoefte aan hebben altijd met raadt en daadt bij te staan.
Dan komt uiteraardt altijd de vraag, wat kosten ze?
Dan hebben wij altijd de neiging om te zeggen, veel, heel veel!
Waarom?
Een hond neem je voor minimaal 10 jaar
Een hond wordt een vriendje in je huis en in je leven.
Wij vinden dat zoiets onbetaalbaar is.
u kunt gerust een (niet echte)OEB op internet vinden voor 3 a 400 euro.
Maar weet u dan wel zeker of daar ook alles aan gedaan is om een goede hond te fokken?
Wij denken van niet.
Wij zouden wel willen schreeuwen, trap er niet in.
Als u voor een OEB gaat, kijk eerst eens bij de instanties zoals

denkt u nou, hmm het staat me wel aan wat ze schrijven, kijkt u gerust verder op onze site.
dan ziet u dat de liefde voor onze honden heel diep zit en ver gaat.

and who was atlethic
but the name english bulldog was allready there , so he choose the name Old English bulldog, well none as OEB.
But everybody started whit what he started, mixe sertain breeds to get the english bulldog back.
And nobody ask iff it was alloud to use the name.
So he and a few other breeders start there own foundation called Leavitt bulldog Association.
So you can say, the real OEb are leavitt bulldogs.
Are the leavitts better then all the other breeds? oh no , absolutley not.
But we stick to the leavitts whit the original blood.
we also wanna breed our own alternativ bleu line, but its not easy to get a good male pup.
And not easy at all to get a healthy pup!!
So who are WE??
we are a famillie living in the north of holland having a few dog.
Are we breeders?
well...no...we have from time to time a litter, once or twice a jear.
Why....because all our dogs living in our house, and not in kennels.
We are every day bissy whit our dogs, and work them
we X ray our dogs at a foundation who has the haviest graduation(hirschveld foundation)
we only breed from there third heat, that will be arround 20 month old.
we look at the dogs, iff they fit eacheother whit caracter, body and the lines.
so in that way, yess we are breeders, and now we dont have to live from it.
so dogs are not our bread, but are pure our hobby, unfortunatley a very expensif and intens hobby.
we have always in the jear that the litter is born a Highwoodbulls puppy day.
And we have once a jear, that is always the first sunday of september a highwoodbulls day.
all our buyers come together and we have a great day.
We give 2 jears of garantee on HD and ED
iff the situation change, and it dosnt matter what kind of reasson, you can allways bring the dog back!
We sell our pups whit a contract, that a lawer made, to protect us, but also the buyer!
We alway get the question, how much cost a pup....
The first thing we wanna say is...MUCH...WAY TO MUCH!!
Why
The dog will be your compagnion for more then 10 jears.
and how cheaper the dog, how more problems you get.
And we want the people who go for a pup,and not becuase he or she was cheap!!
When you look on the internet, its possible to get a dog for about 3 or 400 euro.
but you know that its not an original OEB
You know that those people dont X ray there dogs, so you dont now iff people now what kind of dogs they have.
most breeders say, well i garantee that my dog is free, iff i ask, can i see the x rays, we didnt make them.
how do you know that your dog is free from all of that?
Do you have X ray eyes?
We wanna scream to all of you, please dont buy that kind of dogs, yess there are cute when they are a puppy,
but a lam is also cute or a pig!

Do you have prove that the vather is really the vather.

What are the garantee that you give me, and is that on paper?
